In 2016, the Vietnamese Danish artist Danh Vo created an installation for National Gallery Singapore’s Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden. The work consists of a set of abstract wooden forms and an ancient Roman marble sculpture, installed on a copper surface. The copper oxidised in Singapore’s tropical climate over the course of the exhibition, changing the appearance of the work and alluding to the idea of transcultural shifts that is at the heart of much of Vo’s practice.
