Inspired by the dialogues in the exhibition on how contemporary art can renew Picasso’s legacy and give new meanings to his art, M+ shop offers an exclusive collection of collaborative products with Keiichi Tanaami's "Pleasure of Picasso" series.
To break himself out of a dry spell during the COVID-19 pandemic, contemporary artist Keiichi Tanaami turned to one of his Picasso favorites - "Mother and Child" (1943) - and created a replica. He describes this process of painting as "like copying a sutra" and has since then created a collection of Picasso-inspired paintings. "These pleasure-filled times are still continuing, and today I am obsessed with Picasso, neglecting the work I have been commissioned to do. I don't know what will happen to this training, which may never end."
