PINTON is a unique fifth generation family business dating back to 1867 and based in France. The company mainly works hand in hand with artists, galleries and museums. Recognised internationally for two craftsmanship: bespoke rugs for high end projects and artist tapestries.

Stéphanie Mercier created a series of drawings for children, Enfances, for Atelier Autonome du Livre in Mosset, in the Pyrenees, where her work was exhibited after she took an artist’s residency.

The collection of children’s rugs imagined by Stéphanie Mercier for PINTON includes this rug titled Ane (Donkey) after the animal it portrays. For this piece, Stéphanie Mercier suggested weaving phosphorescent threads with the wool. Typical of her delicate and magical vision.
