'Ay-O: Hong Hong Hong' is the first solo exhibition of the artist's works in Hong Kong. The presentation features nearly 50 works by Ay-O from the 1950s to the 2000s, alongside a selection of works by his Fluxus collaborators and counterparts. The rainbow, Ay-O's signature pattern, captures this universal spirit, and he has taken the motif beyond the canvas to create prints, sculptures, installations, and environments over the last six decades.
Available in black and white versions, this specially designed tote bag shows Ay-O’s alias in Japanese kanji overlaid with sections from the silkscreen Encouraging the good and punishing the evil (1988), evoking his depiction of ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’. The English letters ‘AY-O’ are rendered in reflective material, adding a distinctive stylistic touch.
