To celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the M+ Museum's opening, M+ is delighted to introduce the 2nd Anniversary Collection of tote bags. In addition to the M+ classic design and Cuddlies, we have collaborated with various illustrators from Hong Kong to bring you fresh inspiration to witness M+'s entry into a new year together.
These computer-generated cuddly creatures are reminiscent of the work of a group of artists residing Paris in the post-Second World War era in the 1950s who sought for a new visual language and found that in a raw and childlike style now known as Tachism. Blots of colour, stemming from a gesture of the painter’s hand, were then patterned across the canvas. Today, Thonik utilises this distinctive style in designing these Cuddly creatures that form and transform endlessly in a virtual space with ever changing eyes and antennas.
